About the Program

The Financial Stability Program is an innovative, comprehensive program designed to coach low – and moderate-income individuals and families on how to achieve economic success by learning about the traditional “C”‘s of banking: Capacity, Capital and Credit in the context of the fourth “C”; understanding the wide-reaching effects of the “Cost” of living in a consumer-oriented society. Economic literacy activities lead to additional education in the areas of homeowner education, workforce preparedness and healthy family development. This program also offers up to $1000 match savings for successfully completing the program requirements.

City of Tampa Rental Security Deposit and Utility Assistance Program

About the Program

This program is available to assist with rental security and utility deposit on behalf of eligible households within the City of Tampa. Eligible utility deposits include only provider-mandated deposits for water, sewer, electricity, and gas.  Each unit will be inspected to be sure that the unit meets Section 8 Housing Quality Standards (HQS).  Assistance may be provided to very-low and low-income, must be homeless, or at risk of homelessness because of the inability to pay the security and/or utility deposit.  Assistance is limited to a one-time award.  Approved households must be able to pay the monthly rent and must meet all program requirements.

    • This is not emergency housing
    • This is a first come, first serve program
    • You must find an apartment unit in the City of Tampa limits
    • You must meet with a counselor AFTER completing the workshop to determine eligibility
    • This does not assist with past/ delinquent rent or utility payments

  • Small Dollar Loan program
    • Must meet with a Solita’s House financial counselor no less than 3 times to develop an action plan, review budget and credit
    • Only a Financial Counselor can refer you for our loan
  • Rental Assistance Program Loan (RAP Loan)
    • Must meet with a Solita’s House financial counselor no less than 2 times to develop an action plan, review budget and credit
    • Only a Financial Counselor can refer you for our loan

To successfully make application for the above programs you must first register for our 4 hour Financial Capability and Housing Rights and Responsibility workshop.
