Evona Lewis saw a post I posted on Facebook about Solita’s House and signed up. Once she came to do her intake, she was telling me how her and her daughter was living in her car. She had me walk outside with her to see all of her and her daughter’s clothes in the backseat and floor of the car. Mind you this day it was 95 degrees outside, and she told me how she would go, and park somewhere shaded in the daytime so her and her daughter wouldn’t get overheated. I connected her to a homeless shelter I linked up with about 3 weeks ago and after multiple phone calls, driving to the shelter I finally got her in today. It was so challenging trying to get her and her daughter off the street but as of today, I was able to do just that. It made my day when she called me crying and saying she got in. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
