Dewanna Durant began her counseling session on 8/17/2019. The client is an African American single  woman who lives alone. Ms. Durant has a full-time job working for Ashley Furniture since April of 2020.  Her dream is to purchase a home in the City of Tampa.  

During their first session, the client and counselor (Angel Santiago) reviewed their credit, savings and  money management, and affordability. 

Ms. Durant had an average of 659 via credit karma. Her credit card utilization was at 5% and it also  showed that she had one collection for $2,150.00 

After reviewing the need for personal savings/reserves and lender/DPA requirements, the client and  counselor set goals and action plans for the client to help her situation. The client and Counselor discuss  all the different loan product options and the purchase price and goal the client had. 

The client’s main goal was to have her daughter refinance her car loan under her name in which the client  co-sign to have a positive impact on her credit score. Ms. Durrant was very motivated and excited to start  the action plan we put together. 

Ms. Durrant’s hard work is finally paying off. The client was able to increase her score by paying off one  collection account which increased her score. The client was able to save over $2,200 toward her savings  and now has an average credit score of 673.
